Post "Variation" releases based on Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music", Eno's "Music For Airports" & "Thursday Afternoon" and Neu!'s 3 LP discography, CBQ reimagines Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" via a very quiet ambient rendition, incorporating his signature Disquiet Guitars, removing the bombast but retaining the DNA of the original. Each piece reflects the seminal Pink Floyd work in one way or another. The download bundle contains a further three versions of the album, a cross-faded version of sides one and two of the main LP (41:41), the split track version of the purely ambient mix (85:38) and a cross-faded ambient version of the LP (79:59).
On the morning of 26 July 2023, I had a thought that I might try and create a long ambient piece based around Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon". Just over two months later, here it is. It's definitely NOT "The Dark Side of the Moon" but there is a fleeting resemblance.

songwriter & soundscaper David Reilly started musicking in 1977 by creating drones using sellotape on the keys of his dad's Bontempi Organ. The subsequent junk shop purchases of an electric guitar & fuzzbox and the acquisition of an old Beatles songbook, led him into songwriting......more

Time and texture. They move seemingly somewhat independent of each other, but also quite cognizant of the other. Categorizing is difficult here and this listener counts that as a wonderful success. You need to wear your different ears here. Recommended! solemnland
