Six variations created by combining looped samples of the music of German band Neu! and retemporised and, occasionally, retuned and treated elements of pieces from Cloudland Blue Quartet's "Disquietmusik" series. The Download Bundle contains a second album comprising the exclusive Neu! Variation remixes of the six "Disquietmusik" pieces created for the project.
"The Neu! Variations" follows in the footsteps of Cloudland Blue Quartet's previous "Variations" sets containing his interpretations of "Music For Airports" and "Thursday Afternoon" by Brian Eno and his four volumes based on Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music", all of which are still available on Bandcamp. This time he takes on two pieces each from seminal German band Neu!'s three LPs, released between 1972 and 1975, combining each with the distinctive sound of his Fripp-esque guitarscapes "Disquietmusik" series. 69 minutes of bonus tracks, exclusive to downloaders, comprise the new mixes of the six "Disquietmusik" pieces created for the project.

Time and texture. They move seemingly somewhat independent of each other, but also quite cognizant of the other. Categorizing is difficult here and this listener counts that as a wonderful success. You need to wear your different ears here. Recommended! solemnland
